Post-secondary Division Newsletter – January 2020

January 2020

Hello, and welcome to Business Professionals of America!

Whether you are new to the Post-secondary division, or have been a member for a while, our team wants you to know that we are glad you have decided to join BPA this membership year. As a team, we want to provide you with valuable updates about BPA and the workforce. Each month, we will be sending out relevant emails discussing the different programs of BPA, new tips geared towards post-secondary/college level students, and updates on what’s happening in the world of business. If you are a Post-secondary advisor, we would love if you are able to forward this email to your students, or provide us with their contact information so we can reach out to them. We are excited to start this initiative for our members, and can’t wait to see all that Post-secondary members capitalize on in this upcoming year.

Utilizing LinkedIn

Since its creation, LinkedIn has become a very popular destination for human resource managers and hiring committees to look for information regarding job applicants. In addition, there are many companies that use this website to recruit new people to apply for their open positions. It is never too early to create your LinkedIn account and to get your name out there so that you can start connecting with other professionals and people with similar goals in order to build your network.

One great starting point is to use your experience with BPA as an opportunity to show just how great of professional you are! Also, you can list any certifications or honors you may have received that will be relevant to you building your professional profile!
