Students Recruiting Students Video Contest

Business Professionals of America is excited to announce a new partner contest which will
launch the third week in January 2020.

Sponsored by Avidity Creates and MasterMIND Productions, this new contest will be open to all
three divisions of student membership: Middle Level, Secondary and Post-secondary, and will focus on the creation of a student recruitment style video promoting BPA.

The contest is designed for teams of 2-5 students who will work together to complete their
challenge over a 6-week period, competing against other BPA students and chapters.
According to the sponsors, the promotional video should tell the story of our organization, what
it’s about, how students benefit from being involved, and promote Business Professionals of
America to a large audience of students ranging from Middle Level through College. Videos
should be no longer than 2-3 minutes in length and highlight/showcase Business Professionals
of America from a student member’s viewpoint. Use of copyrighted video, music, images, logos,
and trademarks is prohibited; entries that contain any copyrighted materials will be disqualified
unless written permission to use the materials is acquired and submitted to the National Center
of Business Professionals of America along with the entry.

“We’re seeking creative storytelling through video that will attract the best and brightest to BPA,”
said Kenia Thompson of Avidity Creates. “So that means the video should be memorable,
repeatable and capture viewer’s attention.”

The top three finalist teams will be announced in early March, and have the opportunity to attend the 2020 National Leadership Conference in National Harbor, MD May 6-10 where they will be recognized on stage at the National Honor Awards program.

Students from the top three finalist teams will also have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive workshop at NLC – The Art of Storytelling – which will be hosted by the competition sponsors, Avidity Creates and MasterMIND Productions and participate in a shadowing experience with the agency throughout the conference as well as receive professional
mentorship after NLC.

The winning team will additionally receive a $500 financial award, earn the opportunity to have
professional mentorship from the sponsoring agency, and their winning video will be included in
the National organization’s video library for agency-wide use.
Contest entries will be due by midnight (EST) on February 29, 2020.
