Board of Directors – Business Representatives Application
The Business Professionals of America, Texas Association, Board of Directors welcomes applicants for one (1) Business Representative position on the board. Business Professionals of America is a nonprofit Career & Technology Student Leadership Organization for business students and teachers and is under the umbrella of the Texas Education Agency.
There is one (1) Business Representative Positions that is open for applicants.
Time commitments include attending a minimum of three (3) Board Meetings per year , assisting with committees and working during the State Leadership Conference. Meeting dates are flexible depending on availability but plan on meeting in mid-September, early December, the week of the State Leadership Conference and in mid-June or July with an attempt to align with the summer teacher conference. Other online meeting may be setup as needed.
Key responsibilities of the Business Representative include:
- Serve as a member of the Contracted Services Oversight Committee
- Serve as a member of the Officer Election Committee
- Provide business perspective at board meeting
- Utilize existing business network to solicit support for Texas BPA
- Attend all board meetings and State Leadership Conference
- Complete State Leadership Conference duties as assigned by Chair
- Maintain membership as a Professional Member or Alumni Member of BPA
Key Performance Measures:
- Raise at least $500 (or equivalent donation)
- Utilize business network to obtain at least 5 judges
- Attends at least 3 board meetings per year
Deadline to submit applications is February 15, 2024.
