2022 Growth and Development Conference

Texas was well represented in Anaheim, California July 10-16 during the 2022 Growth and Development Conference. Texas members of the Classroom Educators Advisor Council (CEAC) met to review, audit and finalize our competitive events for the coming year. We would like to thank Kelly Munro, Bryan Baker, Kalwenda Lott and Jaye Simpson for working on this important committee and serving as our Texas representatives. They work tirelessly to create topics and tests that are co-curricular and relevant and do an amazing job with this team. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

The State Advisor Advisory Committee (SAAC) also gathered together to discuss recommendations and suggestions and share best practices during this time. We were able to share many great ideas and resources and we have a great vision for where our organization is headed for the coming year. We look forward to sharing more with other states and expanding this year.

Finally, the National Board of Trustees were able to finalize many of the recommendations and will be bringing forward some new items for the year. Texas is proud to have our own D’Schon Simmons representing us as the National Secondary President and serving on the Board of Trustees. He shared his team’s program of work for the year and it includes many initiatives that will encourage community involvement and increasing communication via social media engagement.

We look forward to an exciting year in BPA together!
