I, Paris Aquino, am running to your next State Officer. Since joining BPA three years ago, it's become an integral part in my growth as not only a student, but an individual; developing a passion for the values it transmits. I want to be involved in giving the same positive experience BPA is known for. I believe I can be an asset to the team through skills in communication . I would like to further expand BPA’s outreach on social platforms to increase its reach for new members, ensuring the longevity and authenticity of the organization.

Lucas Garcia

As a candidate for BPA Texas Association, I am committed to responsible leadership, embracing its challenges and opportunities. My diverse team experiences have honed collaborative skills, enabling effective teamwork towards shared goals. Leadership, for me, is leading and guiding peers toward excellence, a quality I’ve developed in various roles within and beyond BPA. Running for this position reflects my commitment to our community, aiming to leverage my public speaking and innovative ideas for broader impact. I aspire to integrate community impact projects with business education, fostering social responsibility and enhancing both our members and the community.

Melanie Guerrero

Business Professionals of America has given purpose to my potential. This organization has developed me into a leader and future professional by providing the skills needed to succeed in the business world. As a State Officer, I plan to promote pride in our membership through social media and in-person spirit campaigns. I intend to implement standardized competition and technical workshops at the chapter level to help our members succeed in their presentations and technical submissions. My goal is to take my leadership to the state level and share my experience and lessons learned with all Texas members.

Throughout my BPA journey, I've refined my public speaking skills and grown into a tenacious yet empathetic leader. My ability to encapsulate diverse perspectives, exhibit unwavering determination, and cultivate inclusive environments showcases my passion for change-making. Joining the BPA officer team, I aim to manifest my commitment by envisioning an inclusive online space, amplifying member voices, and ensuring officer responsibilities contribute meaningfully. Nikhil Kotta

Howdy! My name is Nikhil Kotta and I’m honored to be a state officer candidate this year. During my term, I will simplify the learning curve of becoming a new BPA member by creating a video series preparing members for each event and establishing monthly open sessions for members to pop in and ask questions. Furthermore, I plan on adding additional leadership opportunities in the form of an entrepreneurship incubator program at state and establishing a state outreach/fundraising committee to amplify our funding to produce Texas BPA’s best ever SLC. #Kottaiskey!

“Be good, be learning, be strong,” my father’s mantra on our daily commute to school instilled the sense of service, education, and resilience within me. These values have encouraged me to seek opportunities to make an impact within my community, fostering analytical, collaborative, and management skills that have proven effective in the past year serving as the Texas State Reporter. I strive to further utilize my experiences within Business Professionals of America to consistently support our members, expand competition resources, and implement outreach efforts and efficient communication strategies to empower members, provide professional development opportunities, and strengthen our organization.

As an Army BRAT, I've traveled the world and am honored to continue my academic journey in the state that prides itself on pioneering spirit—a spirit I see in myself. I participated in multiple clubs and organizations thinking it would make me a more versatile person. Yet, I learned it wasn’t about the amount I belonged to, but rather my drive to be the best member I could be in clubs I enjoyed most. I want to be an example for my team and Texas. BPA is my opportunity to use my role to empower those members with similar passions.

I once felt silenced, uncertain of how to find my voice, until I joined Business Professionals of America. Through my involvement, I discovered the power of expression in competitive events and my role as regional president. BPA empowered me to assert myself, and now, I aim to enlighten others about the incredible opportunities within BPA. Beyond that, I aspire to aid individuals in discovering their voice and passion. I am thrilled to run for the Business Professionals of America state officer position. To bridge the gap between local BPA chapters and the business community. As a passion-driven high school student I aim to create valuable opportunities for collaboration within each region. I intend to promote connections between BPA members and nearby companies by taking the initiative to arrange networking events and workshops. We can provide our members with practical insights and further their professional development by cultivating these ties. If elected as a Texas BPA State Officer, I bring to the team a dynamic blend of leadership, soft skills, and steadfast commitment to elevate Texas BPA and its members. With a proven record in effective leadership through BPA, NHS, and orchestra, I aim to foster connectivity throughout Texas BPA, allowing members across regions to share their experiences and learn and grow alongside one another. My commitment to expanding the knowledge of members and creating a greater community greatly aligns with BPA’s ideals of education and professional development. I am determined and committed to ensuring Texas BPA’s potential is maximized.

Advith Suggala

My goals as a BPA officer would be to empower student leaders among the members of the organization and help create a plethora of opportunities in professional growth, service, and leadership. If elected, I believe that my abilities of communication and creativity would help foster ideas for BPA such as the inclusion of diversity among members from my experiences and organizing various events at the State Leadership Conference. My aim as State Officer this coming year would be to implement trivia activities in the Texas State BPA special event to engage the members to win based off their previous knowledge.

Deborah Umanzor

I, Deborah Umanzor, strongly believe that I am the best and the most qualified candidate for the State Officer position because I am committed to achieving all my endeavors. Another qualification that I possess is my dedication to multiple school organizations, such as, Business Professionals of America, Teen court, High School for Law & Justice Ambassador, National Honor Society, and Junior ROTC. I am highly intelligent and one of the most selfless and altruistic people you will ever meet. I already possess those characteristics that is necessary in today’s young leaders and especially for the young leaders leading our Texas Association.

Additionally, I would like to integrate monthly challenges on social media to amplify engagement with chapters and foster a shared space for state success. Alysia Hill

If elected, I will advocate for changes that will better BPA as an organization. As a member and state officer, I will not only be able to connect with competitors and advisers within BPA, but I will also be able to learn about some issues that members have with the organization. An issue many have currently is the lack of communication about competitors' test scores. I seek to change the policy that keeps competitors from knowing their contest test scores; after all, how can someone be expected to improve themselves when they don't know what to improve upon?

If re-elected, I plan to empower ALL leaders with inclusivity and unity by actively advocating for special population members on behalf of the Associate Division. During my time in BPA, I have been swept up by the passion and camaraderie which flows throughout this organization. At first, I was intimidated by the seeming complexity of it all, but I was met with people who welcomed me and were willing to help. I met countless amazing people, and I knew that I wanted to become a leader of the community which had welcomed me. My mission, if elected, is to bring others along on the adventure named BPA.
