Workplace Skills Assessment Program
The Workplace Skills Assessment Program is an integral part of Business Professionals of America.
The goal of the program is to provide all business students with the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills learned through business education curricula. Students prepare for and compete in contests in over 90 categories, under six Assessment Areas including:

- Finance
- Business Administration
- Management Information Systems
- Digital Communication & Design
- Management, Marketing & Communication
- Health Administration
The goal of the program is to provide all business students the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills learned through business education curricula. Students will:

demonstrate occupational competencies;
-
broaden knowledge, skills, and attitudes;
-
expand leadership and human relation skills;
-
demonstrate a competitive spirit; and
-
receive recognition.

Students may enter enter two events, only one of which may be a team event. Postsecondary students may enter three events, only one of which may be a team event. A student may enter an unlimited number of open events. Students do not need to pre-qualify for open events to compete at the state or national leadership conferences.

These guidelines and topics are published and released September 1.
Students in each division have separate guidelines and events that can be found and explained in the Workplace Skills and Assessment Program Guidelines. Texas recognizes and supports the following Divisions:
- Secondary (high school)
- Associate (high school students who meet criteria and qualify for special populations)
- Middle Level (middle school 6-8 grade)
- Post-Secondary (college or university)
- Virtual (available for any member who does not have access to a chapter at their school)
As a premier business business organization, we take pride in educating our members on creating a professional image and demonstrating proper behavior. Therefore, we have adopted a dress code and delegate code of conduct for members to follow while attending all of our conferences, events, and activities.
