Our National Student Leadership Group
Our National Officers
Business Professionals of America National Officers represent the BPA student members from across the country. National officers serve a one-year term and are elected each year during the organization’s National Leadership Conference.
National Officers are known collectively as the “Executive Council” and represent the national organization at various conferences and meetings throughout the nation during their term of office. In addition, they may make recommendations to the Board of Trustees as well as to the members of their divisions. National Officers also oversee all meetings at the National Leadership Conference.
Structure: The Secondary Division Executive Council is composed of up to six (6) officers and the Post-secondary Division Executive Council is composed of up to four (4) officers.
The Secondary Division National Officer Team has created an amazing platform of opportunities for our members! Download their Program of Work to gain a detailed overview of their goals for this membership year.

Donate to the National Officer Scholarship fund in Elijah Sorensen’s name!
Elijah Sorensen is your National Secretary for the Secondary Division. Fresh off his term as Idaho’s State Secretary, he is delighted for the opportunity to fulfill this role at the national level. A fan of musicals, and maybe a little bit audacious, some of Elijah’s favorite secretaries include Alexander Hamilton and April Ludgate of Parks & Recreation. Elijah sees our current world situation not as a hindrance, but an opportunity—he anticipates working alongside the members of this year’s National Officer Team to implement new initiatives for members that will enhance their involvement within BPA during this unique time. Elijah currently attends the Boise State Honors College, majoring in Computer Science. Being a National Officer is certainly a challenge, but as an ardent Lover of Taylor Swift, Elijah assures members he is more than Ready For It.
